"The feeling of wanting to give or share is often the first manifestation of the spiritual life" - Sangharakshita
What our center has to offer is the Buddha's teachings, meditation and our sangha. Our aim is to inspire a culture of generosity that will pervade the community. We are self-supported by individual contributions with no central funding.
Through giving, we learn to transcend ourselves and respond to the needs of others. If you value what is offered, you will hopefully be inspired to help us to offer that gift to others. All fees and donations pay for operating costs. Please consider supporting the center by donating a tax-deductible gift, volunteering, and/or by purchasing items from our bookstore located in the center.
There are many ways that you can help the Seattle Buddhist Center:
Make a donation - Be it large or small, one-time, or ongoing, give to the level of your ability; any amount helps.
Volunteer - Our volunteer system helps to keep our center running smoothly and is always looking for more help.
If you are already pledging or volunteering, sadhu! We are grateful, and appreciate your generosity.
Monthly pledges are especially helpful as they enable us to budget more effectively. Last year pledges ranged from $30 to $250 per month. Donations are tax deductible. We are registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
