SPECIAL NOTICE: COVID-19
OPPORTUNITY FOR GENEROSITY
As we stay in place and limit our contact with the outside world, it is hard not to see the economic damage that the pandemic has wrought worldwide and locally. Unemployment is rising and many people are unsure how they will stay housed and fed. Buddhist practice helps us witness and empathize with suffering, and assist where we can.
Food banks throughout Puget Sound are facing a daunting increase in demand, and an increasingly limited supply. We can help, even in this time of social distancing. One way is to donate what money you can afford to the
Northwest Harvest, an umbrella organization that assists food banks locally and throughout Washington.
We understand that giving money can feel a little impersonal: perhaps consider your offering as an extension of yourself, the effort it took you to earn it now directed to a worthwhile concern. Even if it is only a few dollars, it will do someone, perhaps several people, some good. Thanks for considering this.
