Sangha Night
Practicing Buddhism with others offers a unique opportunity to get to know oneself, learn from each other, and express oneself more deeply through relationship.
The evening is a rotating program of meditation, dharma talks, and puja (devotional ritual) but each night includes some meditation. Check the program or the newsletter for details.
We strongly suggest that all attendees have the most up-to-date vaccines. An air purifier is in use and masks are currently optional.

Programme
5 January 2025 — 9 February: The Four Noble Truths — Essential Teachings of the Buddha
One of the central, and best known, teachings of the Buddha is the formulation of the Four Noble Truths, which are:
First Truth: Our lives are characterized by suffering or unsatisfactoriness. The Buddhist word for this is dukkha.
Second Truth: The cause of dukkha is craving.
Third Truth: If we can end craving we can end suffering.
Fourth Truth: The way to end craving is by following the Eightfold Path.
We’ll explore this significant teaching over the next few months at Sangha Night, in addition to monthly devotional practices and meditation evenings. See full schedule for details.
5 January 2025: Introduction to the Four Noble Truths
The 4 Noble Truths were delivered in the first Sutta uttered by the Buddha. Listen to the story as it has travelled to us across millennia and continents. Led by Metta.
12 January 2025: An Evening of Meditation
This week we'll focus on meditation with guidance. We'll sit together for a longer period then have a small group discussion led by Amaradhi.

Nope, all are welcome regardless of any previous or current spiritual practice.

There are no special requirements. Dress comfortably. At the center, cushions and benches are provided for you. At home, a pillow or dining room chair will be perfectly suitable.
How much does the class cost?
We don't charge a fixed price for our classes but instead invite you to make a donation to the center to help us cover our running costs.
